The Need for Transitional Living |
|
It has become a fact of life that more and more teenage girls are becoming pregnant every day. Some critics blame the schools for not educating the children. Some
blame the media hype around teen stars such as Jamie Lynn Spears and
the recently released movie, Juno, for a romanticized portrayal of teen
pregnancy. Still others blame Hollywood for bringing us movies and
television series that depict sexual activity among teens as normal and
accepted.

While reviewing notes for a parenting class I was to teach, my eyes fell upon these words, “Whether
we want to or not we tend to parent in the same way we were parented”.
My mind traveled to Hands of Grace Ministries and the needs of the
girls living at Cara’s House, for a transitional time, after their
babies are born.

Letter from the President - October 2008 |

Hands of Grace Ministries was founded two years ago on November 2nd. During that time, Cara’s House began operating and has been running for over a year now. With very little advertising, we have been at capacity almost the entire time. After much prayer and planning, we have taken a step of faith and have broken ground on the permanent facility for Cara’s House.
